ASSISTANT DATA MANAGER

  ASSISTANT TO THE DATA MANAGER - ECC The University of the Virgin Islands is seeking an individual for the position of Assistant to the Data Manager. Individual will be responsible for assisting in the production of maps and GIS analysis. Ideal applicants must be enthusiastic, motivated, and commit- led. The position is based on grant funding with contracts approved on an annual basis. OUALIFICATIONS. Bachelor's degree in related area of equivalent experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Position is computer intensive. Applicants should have at least Two (2) years working knowledge of relational database systems, familiarity with GIS, on-the-job technical writing skills and exposure to QA policies and procedures.
  Compensation: The salary range for this position is $28,619 - $31,742 annually. Excellent benefit package.

TERMINAL DOCK FOREMAN
  
  HOVENSA seeks TERMINAL DOCK FOREMAN with three years of experience in general dock operations, including vessel inspections, loadings and documentation of loadings and operation of dock equipment. Additionally, candidates should have knowledge of gauging sampling and physical characteristics of petroleum products. Thorough knowledge of dock lines loading and field systems. Ability to qualify in the operation of the benzene marine vapor control system and sulfur loader. General working knowledge of applicable federal regulations concerning docking operations, pollution prevention, safety and pollution response, is preferable. Working knowledge of personal computers and software programs. Ability to work rotating shifts.

  HOVENSA has opening for a Buyer I position at refinery. Interested persons must have at least a high diploma. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Engineering. Working knowledge and one year practical usage of SAP system software or comparable software, which include purchasing, warehouse management and accounting modules. Basic knowledge of refinery equipment and materials nomenclature as needed for supplier selection and communication with requisitioners is required. Ability to evaluate market conditions and trends, and communicate with local and stateside vendors. Knowledge of expediting and traffic conditions unique to this Caribbean location. Knowledge of customs procedures, laws and documentation requirements.

AIR GROUP LEADER
  
  HOVENSA seeks an AIR GROUP LEADER with the ability to prepare regulatory required reports and permit applications suitable for submittal to government agencies. To considered, candidates should have a B.S. degree in Engineering or Science. Three to five years of environmental experience in a refinery or petrochemical industry. Previous supervisory experience is a plus. Must have knowledge of of the Clean Air Act and associated regulations. Ability to communicate effectively with refinery staff and regulatory agency personnel.

CASINO INSPECTOR
  
   According to the Casino Control Commission resumes will be accepted through Monday, August 16, 1999 for a highly responsible individual for the position of Casino Inspector.
   To be considered, applicants must posssess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in either accounting, finance, hotel management, business management, criminal justice, computer technology or related field appropriate to the position.
   Certification and experience in a field appropriate to the position may be substituted for educational requirements.
   Candidates must undergo a thorough background investigation and must successfully complete a Field Gaming Regulator-Casino Inspector training program.
   After a required period of orientation and training must demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in the following areas:
  -- Administrative policies and procedures of the Casino Control Commission; and
  -- Casino and Resort Control Act of 1995 and attendant regulations.
   Individual must also be able to:
  -- To perform assigned fieldwork.
  -- To prepare clear, concise and accurate reports containing findings, conclusions and recommendations.
  -- To use various types of electronic and manual recording and information systems used by the Casino Control Commission and casino hotels.
  -- To speak, read, write and communicate in English sufficiently to perform duties of this position.
