What is the Foundation's Council of Trustees? The St. Croix Foundation, until 1999, received operating support from the Ford Foundation. Last year, however, Ford mandated we complete a strategic planning process to, in part, garner support from our own community. Through the direction of a private consultant, the Foundation formed the Council of Trustees who, through financial support, provide operating funds. Below is a brief outline of the Council's role.
A Trustee gives no less than $10,000 per year for at least three years and provides advice, counsel and direction to the Board of Directors and management of the Foundation. The Foundation looks to the Council for resources that will promote organizational growth, respect and long-term stability in the community.
The Council of Trustees will encourage additional financial support for the Foundation through personal and professional contacts.
The Council of Trustees will be represented by two seats on the Board of Directors. |
