Al otro lado de las murallas fortificadas del Viejo San Juan se encuentra la famosa comunidad La Perla, donde los voluntarios se dedican al proyecto Las Duchas del Hogar Padre Venard, una facilidad que ofrece servicios de aseo a las personas sin hogar. Además de dirigir las operaciones diarias, los voluntarios colaboran con otras agencias locales para lograr la rehabilitación y reintegración de los participantes a la sociedad. Sobre todo, tratan de crear un ambiente amigable que permite a los clientes sentirse parte de una comunidad cariñosa.

El Hogar Niños Que Quieren Sonreír
El Hogar Niños Que Quieren Sonreír es la entidad sin fines de lucro afiliada a la Sociedad Americana del Cáncer que provee alojamiento temporero libre de costo a los pacientes pediátricos con cáncer (hasta los 21 años) y a sus cuidadores en los momentos de necesidad.
Nuestro Hogar es mucho mas que un lugar para hospedarse, es un ambiente de enriquecimiento personal donde aquellos menores con cáncer encuentran apoyo, comprensión y aliento de otros que están atravesando la misma situación.
Estos pequeños pacientes diágnosticados con cáncer son residentes en Puerto Rico y se hospedan junto a sus familias que le acompañan, mientras asisten a tratamiento ambulatorio por su condición.*

Museo Castillo Serrallés
El Museo, a su vez, presenta una serie de exposiciones temporeras y una exposición permanente titulada "La Hacienda Mercedita" para el disfrute y enriquecimiento cultural del público visitante.
El Castillo pertenece al Municipio de Ponce y lo administra como Museo el Patronato del Castillo Serrallés Inc., una organización sin fines de lucro, que proviene del sector privado y que está comprometida con la cultura y el turismo ponceño.
El visitante podrá apreciar en este Museo el testimonio de una época y del desarrollo de la importante industria del azúcar y su principal derivado, el ron.
