By the time the dust finally settled after 4.00A:M, the NDP had swept to victory winning eight out of thirteen seats,
including the Fifth District seat formerly held by the Hon. Ethlyn Smith,outgoing Minister of Health and Welfare.
Mrs. Delores Christopher was officially declared the winner by a three vote margin following a recount. |

BVI Sprinter Dion Crabbe captures Gold Medal for the British Virgin Islands at CAC Games Chief Minister Hon. Ralph T. O'Neal Congratulated Dion Crabbe in winning the gold in the 100 metre at the Central American Games in San Salvador, El Salvador on Monday, December 2,2002 with a finish time of 10.28 seconds beating Jesus Carrion (left)of Puerto Rico and Rolando Blanco(right)of Guatmala who won silver and Bronze respectively.In the 200 metre sprint he missed the Bronze by two hundreth of a second
placing fourth.
Dion Crabbe is a senior at Mississippi State University and hails from Old Plantation in Tortola.(The BVI Review also extends Congratulations to Dion on his historical acheivement). |
